The Wealth of America

by J. Ron

It was 1945 and World War II just ended. America entered its golden age because it was the only country left that wasn’t ravaged by war. We were the only competition on the market. We were the only ones out there to provide the world for reconstruction. Now, some historians could say that the Soviets were also a piece of the competition, and it was, but to certain extend, America was left standing alone. Through the next decade or two, America found its way as a military power and rose up to be the wide spread power of the world.

But that was then. Today, the world, not just America, faces a globalization trend that could have consequences. The collapse of the Soviet Union allowed an open market with everyone around the world – nearly all countries had an open market economic system. China also opened its borders to foreign investors in the following years and big corporations like Wall-Mart have used Chinese labor, mainly because it’s cheaper, to produce our goods. When Americans look around, the smokestack factories are gone. America is not a producer nation anymore, it is a consumer nation.

Now what does that mean? A consuming nation is just a country that consumes and not saves. Ideally, when a household receives money either from the government or a job, they can either consume or save. Now this is not an ideal world, so just use your imagination what else money could be used for. Saving is also referred to as investment because when you put money in a savings account, you are investing that money and allowed interest to accumulate. America doesn’t save. Sure America seems to have savings accounts, but who owns the savings account and where’s the incentive to save the money when the system needs money to circulate? There isn’t any incentive. All the media does is promote consumption, and drone the minds of citizens to stop thinking so much. But in the next few years, America will change the consumption ways.

How can I accredit this? The falling dollar. To understand why the dollar falls, one must first understand that the trade deficit doesn’t mean anything about America’s wealth. America, or any country, has a current account and a capital account, both meaning different things. Due to the housing bubble, many of the bad loans bought by US investors, businessmen, and foreign investors are screwed over because the loans will not be paid. The capital account is the changes in the US assets with the rest of the world. Add two and two together and we get foreign investors of the dollar suddenly finding the dollar misleading because the trust in the dollar is disappearing due to the bad loans from the housing bubble. Remember, America is an open market economy. What happens here also affects what is happening in other parts of the world.

So when you’re hearing how bad the housing market is, you’re still not seeing the whole picture because no one seems to be adding how foreigners are also being screwed. However, when the American economy basically lives as a trading currency for other countries to invest in, (like I said before, America really isn’t producing anything anymore and the only thing keeping the US economy alive and spending is its currency and the oil – something I won’t get into here) then when the other countries suddenly decide the US currency is not worthy, the wealth of America will go down. It will fall as has a the road runner runs.

Look at the interesting articles today about the dollar falling down hard. It is only the beginning. Consumers will not be able to spend much and the dollar will still fall even farther. If the dollar can not be trusted anymore, which is already implemented by some foreign investors, and then our wealth as a nation will fall. How come I don’t feel the affects yet? You have. And I don’t mean the increasing price of oil, I mean the way Americans go travel to Europe and find that a cup of coffee is two to three times as more than coffee bought in America. China is keeping America under low costs, depending if we are viewing this from an American consumer’s side.

Bottom line is, America needs a good economic policy to trade with other countries, actually encouraged to because America can not withstand itself. Tax cuts will do more harm if anything, because of the open market economy. America needs other countries to stay alive and spending. Or some solution even better, stop consuming. If you take a look at how much you consume, it’s enormous. A village in India, probably around two thousand people living there, will spend as much as you, the consumer, spend in one lifetime. That’s crazy. You may say that I am out of my mind, or that I’m either republican or democratic, but this is totally conservative economic. Forget political parties, that has nothing to do with the issue. The issue is the average Americans not being able to buy the crap that they buy for cheap anymore. China and India will not with hold us for much longer, America will have to stop consuming more than its limits. But if you don’t take it from me, then go ahead and wait a year or two, the economist says it’s the end of next summer when America will feel the effects, possibly of a recession. Educate yourself and open your eyes to see the crisis America is in. Everything is pretty much predictable economically if you pay attention to the news, the real news that is.

Kindergarten through Eighth Grade

In America, there are three main schools you go to: Elementary, Middle, and High. You start with kindergarten and work your way up to the twelfth grade. During kindergarten you learn the most important lesson the teacher will ever teach you: how to properly finger paint. The teacher allows you to use basic colors as well as purple – not a basic color. During the first grade, the teacher decides to commit suicide, so you’re class has art class everyday, only the boys around you are drawing tanks and missiles while the girls are drawing flowers and a triangle merged with a square in which they have an arrow that points to it that deciphers the word home. The second grade and third grade are literally the same thing because neither one actually teaches you something. The fourth grade is a turning point of a child’s life because the teacher finally says the words, “You’re finally growing up.” These are the words of death to a child because they will no longer enjoy being children because their teacher just ended their childhood, or if the teacher’s words didn’t affect them, they could just as well be characters from J.D. Salinger’s books. The fifth grade is alas the grade that can turn the children of the class either brave men and women or fruits. My friend told me his first trauma of having the first gay thought occurred in the fifth grade. Coincidence? The sixth grade is the next stage of this education system. Literally, it means that if you’re born into a farmer family, this is as high up as you may ever go in the American education system, otherwise, you may as well be homeless. For regular student who go to school, and regular does not mean Native America, the sixth grade just tempts students to try drugs. The eighties and nineties generations have pushed this anti-drug program to the school system that just begs the question and proves to students that the only way to chill out in class is to take a joint. Yeah, the program is “very” persuasive, isn’t it? Well, that just brings on the seventh grade – the pot grade. Class is no longer held to teach anymore, it’s more like a grievance period. The teachers will ask students how they feel and react to certain things, kind of like how pedophiles touch little children, but in a more philosophical sense. The eighth grade is arguably the most boring grade, ‘nuff said. For high school, read another article, that’s just way too complex. That’s where life turns to be centrally circles around the school life – who’s going out with who… what’s the next prank to pull… etc. In conclusion, America is in a state of buffoonery.

The American Education System

Let’s face it America, our education system sucks balls. Why? Because we don’t weed out the bad teachers. Hasn’t Darwin taught us anything? It’s the survival of the fittest, not survival of the old man who yammers on and on about how he couldn’t find his dentures that morning. But seriously folks, there needs to be change. Why should Americans pay for an education system that’s not teaching our children? If you really follow the money trail, our tax dollars are going into the hands of the irresponsible – they pay for the aesthetics of the school or for top notch equipment that ultimately does not help the children learn because the teachers have not actually been trained to use the equipment. Seriously, America has to shape itself properly, not leave it to hands unregulated. There needs to be a reason to give schools more money, a good reason. I don’t know what kind of bull crap goes into the regulation of the money given to education. Don’t tell me that my child needs to go to a private school for a good education. Please, most of us can’t afford to pay for that. Plus, private school is just an institution that engulfs all of the rich kids because they don’t want any diversity; in other words, they don’t want their children going into the melting pot – they want their children to meet only the other rich people in the world. Now some people will claim that the system is great as it is – that it does not need to be fixed. To those people, I can’t show you statistics and boring figures and numbers, but I can show you how effective our media is. They’ve shown that the schools need more funding, but provide legit, liable proof that our schools actually need it. If our schools actually spent its time actually teaching without bias or political opinion, then the students will be well informed about current events enough that they can make their own decisions. Of course our government doesn’t want people to know anything – they want everyone to be in their cubicles working like good rats in the laboratory. Their policies and political stance makes no sense to the average American because most of us can’t even comprehend what is even being said. Our school system has a great way of dealing with this dilemma, don’t teach. At least don’t teach students to the point where they can critically think for themselves. For America’s politicians, whether Democrat or Republican, it really doesn’t matter, they want (impassively) for Americans to just agree with them for the elections. They don’t really want Americans to understand what is going on, they just want their agenda to be issued. Now, that doesn’t mean that politicians are necessarily bad people. Hell, there’s not really a good or bad person because some ideologists want this thing called a ‘grey area’ now. Politicians can be bribed. They can be funded by corporations that have their own agenda they want to issue. (Note: a corporation is actually a legal person or system under the law) Back to the education problem first: America can still fix it. First, weed out the bad teachers. This process may take years, but it will benefit many. Look, there’s a reason we gave old people tenure, but it is just an excuse to give teachers to slack off – you really think most teachers with tenure actually give a crap about the student’s well being? Take a look into their drawer and tell me there are no brochures with retirement packages in the Bahamas.

Open topic: Net Neutrality

I want to expose some of the hard issues that surround the people, mainly people of the US. It's not that easy to understand why people have such hate towards Americans, the anti-American feeling, so I want to break down what is on the minds of many. In response, I would enjoy to read feedback of what people have to say. Nobody gets ignored for their opinions. (Please, for the love of my email, please do not spam me... please) I want to start with the issue of Net Neutrality. What is it? How did it come about? I will try and make a short piece on it as a video from the compilation of information I receive, excluding myths from Wikipedia posts who don't not have proper citations. Please comment and I will be happy to take your questions.
